Official: Joao Pedro signs new Chelsea contract until 2032

Chelsea have confirmed Joao Pedro has signed a new contract running until 2032, with a two-year extension option, ending a summer of transfer speculation.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed via X that "all the paperwork for the move has been agreed," adding that Pedro "will receive a salary rise compared to his previous deal." Financial terms were not disclosed.

According to Sky Sports, Barcelona had been "circling the in-form striker throughout the summer window." Reports via footballtransfers.com suggested Barcelona were prepared to pay around €100m earlier in the summer, but Chelsea held firm and refused to sell.

Pedro's breakout debut season made the new deal an easy call: Sky Sports reports he became "the first Chelsea striker since Diego Costa to bag 20 non-penalty goals in a single campaign," and added three goals in last summer's Club World Cup triumph plus eight in seven pre-season friendlies.
