Crystal Palace have signed 19-year-old United States winger Zavier Gozo from Real Salt Lake on a five-year deal, announced by the club on Tuesday, per ESPN.
ESPN reported the fee at approximately $15 million (£11.1 million) — a figure neither club has officially confirmed. ESPN also reported that Real Salt Lake retain a 20–25% share of any future sale.
A Real Salt Lake academy product, Gozo scored six goals with five assists this season and was named to the MLS All-Star team. Across his time at RSL he recorded 10 goals and eight assists in 50 competitive matches.
At youth international level, Gozo was part of the United States squad that reached the quarterfinals of the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, scoring the opener in a 3-0 group-stage win over France.
"I'm really looking forward to playing in the Premier League with Crystal Palace. It's the dream of any footballer," Gozo said. "I'm excited by the people and the project they have going on here." Palace described him as "such an exciting young talent".
The deal is notable for its route: most highly rated young American players move first to the Netherlands, Belgium or Germany before attempting England. A direct MLS-to-Premier League move at this level, for a player who has just made his league's All-Star team, signals growing confidence in the current generation of US talent — and fits Palace's model of buying long rather than buying finished.
Crystal Palace begin the 2026/27 Premier League season against Everton on Saturday 22 August.
